Hidden Kingdom – Insects and Arachnids (Creation Adventures Workshop)
What’s all the buzz about? Come along with Bill and Merilee Clifton – creationists, authors, Florida Master Naturalists, and science educators – as we learn about the “Hidden Kingdom” of insects and arachnids! You’ll be bug-eyed when you see preserved specimens of the world’s longest insect, the world’s heaviest insect, the insect with the largest eyes, and more! You’ll also see a live Peruvian rose-haired tarantula! Learn about the butterfly and its life cycle – from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. Find out other interesting facts about this beautiful insect. Do butterflies grow? How do they smell? Do they migrate? What is metamorphosis? What does the Bible say about metamorphosis? Discover even more about creepy crawlies by playing a game, viewing a short video, and making creepy crawly crafts. Hope you can “flutter by” and join us! Please note: Each child needs to bring an empty bathroom tissue roll for butterfly crafts.
Creation resources (books and DVDs about and creation, bug bracelets – and more) will be available for purchase.
