Mount St Helens Excursion – Silverlake, WA

Mount St Helens South Side Excursion

This excursion will visit features on the South Side of the volcano, affected by the 1980 eruptions, and by earlier eruptions. The excursion will begin at the rest area on the right of SH 503, just as you enter Cougar, and just before the Country Deli – at 10:00am.

Please contact us before the day, if you wish to take part in this excursion, because there is no cellphone signal in Cougar, WA, and I will be unable to get messages from you on the morning of the excursion.

As well as our fee, the park authorities charge $5 per vehicle to use their roads. Passes can be bought at the Country Deli, or purchased (cash only) at the parking lot for the Lava Canyon.

Details about the itinerary can be found on our Excursions Page. The itinerary suggests a 9:30am start, but this excursion will start at 10:00am, so please add 30 minutes to every timing on the itinerary sheet.
