7 pm – Inherently Wind: A review of the Inherit the Wind movie.
The Hollywood movie “Inherit the Wind”, is a fictionalized account of the Scopes “monkey” trial of 1925. Even though the trial was won by the ‘creationist’ side, the perception and acceptance of Darwinian beliefs gained significant ground in American culture as a result of the publicity. Unfortunately, the 1955 play and the 1960 movie “Inherit the Wind” contained gross inaccuracies of the trial, the people involved and the science behind Darwinism. The play is often performed in high schools and the movie is often shown on college campuses – resulting in increased bigotry against Christians.
Using video clips of the movie and its worldwide promotion, Pastor Rick will reveal how the story-line contains no science but misrepresents Christians through the use of fictional characters and events. Because of its impact on today’s world and its use by evolutionists to mock Bible-believing Christians, it is important to know the truth behind this prominent icon of Hollywood culture.
