Fossil Hunt at the Peace River near Arcadia, FL: The event starts on Friday evening with a tour of the Creation Adventures Museum and a demonstration and hands-on learning on how to hunt for and identify fossils you may find the next day. All day Saturday (9 am-4 pm) is spent either canoeing down the Peace River and stopping in various places to hunt fossils or hunting fossils from the riverbank. Saturday evening is a time to identify and record the fossils found. Participants are allowed to keep the fossils they find (unless it is very unusual) and are guaranteed to go home with fossils. Weather permitting, Dr. Danny Faulkner will lead an astronomy session with his telescope. Sunday morning is a worship service and creation presentation by Dr. Gary Parker. Dr. Faulkner will also provide an opportunity to view the sun through his telescope. The event will end about noon on Sunday. Registration: $50/person. $25/person additional for the canoe option. Riverbank: no extra charge. Administrative fee: $20.00. Everyone is responsible for their own accommodations, food, and transportation.
