This is our regular South Side Excursion. There are two muster points: The Creation Center at 8:30 am and Cougar Rest Area at 10:00 am. This rest area is on the right, as you enter Cougar (if driving from Woodland). There is a parking lot and restrooms.
The park authorities charge for use of roads in the park – $5 per vehicle, unless you display an inter-agency card. Fee can be paid at the Deli in Cougar (by the rest area), or using the envelope scheme at Lava Canyon.
Please let us know if you are joining us at Cougar. There is no cellphone reception there, so your guide will not be able to hear about late arrivals etc.
The Mount St Helens Creation Center shows how the eruptive events of 1980, and the recovery of the area subsequently, are best explained within a biblical context.
